Why are there so many empty properties in Britain?

Britain is an Island, which means that it is surrounded by water, and there is no way out of the country except by air or by boat, and more recently, through the Eurostar. As a result, we will not have any more land than we have now. With global warming causing rising sea levels around the world, this means there will be even less available land in the future.

Given the fact that land and the properties on the land are scarce resources in the Britain, it is a surprising fact that there are so many empty properties in the UK.

It is estimated that the world’s population will be over eleven million people in the year 2050. It is clear that all of these extra people will need a place to live, and chances are good that many of this new influx of people will reside in Europe, and Britain.

In the future, it is likely that government legislation will be brought into place to control the empty homes problem of Britain. This will be an excellent decision for the government of Britain to take because it will ensure that homes are appropriately disturbed throughout Britain.

Either way, with Britain’s growing population continuing to grow, the trend of empty homes will likely continue.  It is a fact that people require their basic needs met, and a place to live is a need, which will never evaporate.
